The Independence monument at night

A tower in the style of Angkor, the Independence Monument is the most inimitable place in the entire city. Located in the heart of the capital, it was built in 1958 to commemorate Cambodia wining her Independence from the French protectorate on 9th of November 1953.  The monument draws in tourists with its rather peculiar appearance. Its unique architecture sets it apart from all the other buildings in city. It is also a monument to all Cambodian patriots who died for country.
